Fisherman’s Paradise

Home of record-breaking striped bass, Beaver Lake is also home to catfish, bluegill, crappie, and walleye. You will discover the famed White River, known for its national and state trout records, just below Beaver Dam. A Fall Leaf Peeping Mecca

Winding roads open up to breathtaking vistas of the tree-covered hills of the Ozarks. Red black gum, dogwood, yellow hickory, orange sassafras, purple sweet gum, and flaming maples orchestrate a symphony of color beginning in late September through mid-November. The Retreat at Sky Ridge is a fall foliage lover’s dream.

The South’s Most Popular Cruising Destination

There is a reason why Eureka Springs hosts so many car and motorcycle events each year – great cruising roads offer views of some of the most splendid geography in North America. The winding, scenic roads of the Ozarks Mountains are a well-known destination for motorcyclists and sports car owners nationwide. See the White River wind through a colorful Ozarks valley at Inspiration Point overlook. For a side trip, take one of the most scenic drives to Beaver Town on Highway 187 North and cross the “Little Golden Gate Bridge,” the most photographed bridge in Arkansas. To see the White River’s primary source, we’ll take Hwy. 187 South to Beaver Lake Dam, a perfect place to watch the sunset over the lake. Eagle & Bird Watching

Soaring across Beaver Lake and above Sky Ridge, majestic eagles own the Ozark skies. A Native Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary, Retreat at Sky Ridge is home to wild turkeys, roadrunners, peregrine falcons, owls, red-tailed hawks, pileated woodpeckers, and many other bird species. Clients often see many from the comfort of their covered porch.

Explore Ozarks Underground

Arkansas is home to nearly 2,000 caves. Retreat at Sky Ridge is close to several public sites, including Onyx Cave, Cosmic Caverns, Mystic Caverns, and War Eagle Cavern.

Lake Leatherwood Hiking & Biking Trails

Mountain bikers come from all over the country for the annual Phat Tire Festival and the Eurekan Multi-Sports Festival. Hike the Cliff Trails on the north shoreline of Beaver Lake and the Parker Bottoms trails along the White River. Explore Table Rock Lake north of the “Little Golden Gate Bridge” in the nearby village of Beaver. Lake Leatherwood is the largest city park in America, featuring a 100-acre no-wake lake for canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboats. The park also features 18 dog-friendly hiking trails – 5 minutes from Retreat at Sky Ridge. Even closer, discover Blue Spring Heritage Center, a historic site with lush gardens centered around historic Blue Spring.
